“Cold Genesis”

Wrote this thing last night. Difficult to sum up in a short preview paragraph, so I won’t even try.

Enjoy.

“Cold Genesis”

Reeling,
I drag a sack of meat and bone –
Worthless flesh without a purpose –
Before her frigid cruel throne.
Rising, crawling to the surface,
Kneeling,
I shiver in the face of truth
And cower ‘hind a dying lie –
The mockery of man uncouth
Dares to slander and defy.
Stealing –
Shambling ‘cross the purest snow,
I leave but sorrow in my wake.
I’ve earned my spine and I shall grow
And unbroken, I shall never break –
Healing,
Winter’s breath has cleared my lungs
And frozen is my savage lust.
She whispers in a thousand tongues
Voices I have learnt to trust –
Feeling.
