Here we are – first entry of the year.

I sketched a couple of ideas before heading to sleep yesterday. Woke up and wrote this. Do mind the imposed pronunciations – this is my realm after all!

Peer beyond the quivering dark –
There is clamour musical,
Where life becomes my matriarch;
And there is beauty beautiful.

I close my lids in peace forbidden,
For I have no need to pry –
The murk is thin, yet truth is hidden,
Thus, the ign’rance of the eye.

Betwixt echos of beck’ning screams
And reverent shadows of the mind,
There’s beauty ‘yond my brightest dreams
And death enough to last a lifetime.
