“Wordless”

I’ve been struggling a lot lately. This is a manifesto of this exact notion. Unfortunately, words can’t always do justice to what I try to convey. …Or maybe I just need to start improving my vocabulary…

Either way, do enjoy!

“Wordless”

Something in the way she speaks
Leaves crowds all but small and weak;

Something in the way she smiles
Can’t be caught in tasteless rhymes;

Something in the way she looks
Can’t be read in scrolls and books;

For paper cannot stay unburnt,
Crumpled pages, left unturnt;

And words can never go unspoken,
When all silence had been broken.

Compliments, but gruesome lies,
To fill the sound and blur the lines.

Yet, seething, etched within my head
Dwell but shapeless words unsaid

And regardless of how I try,
Naught is brought beneath the eye,

For someone so full of purpose
Has left me unquestionably wordless…
