“Shallow Waters”

Just something that spontaneously sprang into my mind while I was working on something else. Thought it might be worth a read.

Enjoy.

“Shallow Waters”

No brow to frown, no eye to see,
Yet, always watching, judging me;

No ear to hear my fading voice,
As they turn my trill to noise;

Depthless noses on their figure –
‘Feel them scoff, I feel them snicker;

No mouth to sing the peaceful world
And yet, they mock my scribbled word;

No tongue, no taste, no lips to speak,
Abnormal absence on their cheek.

In brief strange blinks of clarity,
The Faceless are all that surround me.
